Tutoring Program

Regular versus Reserve Tutor

Tan Kap Vini aims to help further improvements in education with struggling children through our tutoring program. We strive to ensure that each of our learners is paired up with a consistent tutor so that there will be a constant face each week. Having a familiar friendly face will enable our tutor, learner, and parent to be more personable to each other and allow a lasting social bond to grow. As a tutor, you hold the responsibility to help your assigned learner grasp their struggling subject and create an atmosphere of comfort and friendship through the tutoring sessions.

You can decide whether or not to become a regular or reserve tutor.

regular tutor is a tutor that can commit to attending every scheduled tutor session, which is once a week for about an hour and a half. As a regular tutor, you will be assigned to a learner for the semester and help him/her with a certain academic subject, assignment, etc.

reserve tutor is like a substitute tutor. You are considered to be an "on-call" tutor, a person that is willing to be contacted in advance asking about your availability on certain tutoring days to fill in for a regular tutor that will be absent. Both types of tutors are essential towards our program since we strive to ensure that every one of our learners and parents obtains quality tutoring services each tutoring session.

The steps to becoming a tutor can be found in the "Member Application Process," as a subcategory within the "Members" tab.

Weekly Update Form

This google survey must be completed by the tutor (whether you're a regular or reserve tutor) after each tutoring session. It is intended for tutors to provide feedback on their tutoring sessions. This is useful for the Executive Board members and Tutors to stay updated on tutoring sessions.

*Please note: This form can be shared with reserve tutors to understand what you have been working on with your learner in case you are absent.*
